Colorful Country Wedding in the Greek Village of Elateia
This worldly couple traveled around the world for work, life experience and of course, good time. However, their dream exclusive wedding happened in a small homey village in Greece.
Escape from the city life, Anna & Matthieu’s idea was a low key, simple wedding surrounded by friends and family who couldn’t wait to see them again.
The whole event was captured by Mirror Studios.
From Dimitris of MirrorStudio:
“We spoke with Anna on the phone last winter and clicked right away. By spring she was in Greece for the Easter holidays which gave us the chance to meet in person as well. The wedding was to be held in late July so we had plenty of time to plan ahead. Anna is so beautiful inside as she is outside, I instantly thought she’ll be such a graceful bride. We had long walks and talks about her wedding time line, the possibilities to shoot outside and the ideal location, where tables and florals should be set for the couple’s cocktail party, family portraits, and the right time to capture each part. I loved how she took my advice on having an early wedding in order to have enough time for both photography and fun with friends and family, how she trusted me as her wedding photographer, and the beautiful bond that was created between us. In wedding photography nothing can beat that. A week before the wedding I met Matt, a perfect gentleman with a great sense of humor and endless love for his bride, thankful for the “gift” of the Greek landscape. On the day of the wedding everything was ready and all we had to do was start shooting. We headed to the foot of Mount Parnassus, with the valley spreading before us and our backs at the sun for the couple’s portraits and the light was simply mesmerizing. They both enjoyed the warmth and sweetness of the air, brimming with scents of wild herbs and flowers. Their alfresco reception was all about bonding with their loved ones and enjoying genuine moments of fun at a feast (a “glenti”) that lasted till morning. I couldn’t be more thankful for meeting these two.
Can’t wait to see you again guys, all my love, Dimitris.”
From the bride:
“Matthew and I met in Dubai in 2013 while working at a French restaurant. A year later on Christmas day he proposed. Knowing I’m not fond of drawing attention he stirred clear of everything too showy. He took me to our favorite beach for a long walk after work, offered me the ring and proposed we take a trip to Greece, my home country. I was over the moon. What I did not expect was that Matt would literally fall for the beauty of the provincial Greek landscape. Before moving to London we decided to have our wedding at a little village called Elateia. We were captivated by the wild beauty of the place. This simple provincial setting had the most wonderful light, and it was just the patch of heaven we were dreaming of for our big day!”

CHIC INTIMATE SKOPELOS WEDDING
Skopelos seems to be the proper island to host a wedding as sparkling and elegant as this one. Every little detail was capture on film by Dimitris Papageorgiou’s Mirror Studio, who literally transformed every moment of the ceremony, the wedding table and the next day shooting in a poem-like narration. Aegean Dream Weddings emphasised on an unadorned decoration, based mainly on olive leaves and white ribbons, and I couldn’t help but notice how fabulously chic the bride looked, as she was enjoying the most special day of her life in a flowing wedding dress with a laced back. I thought the bride’s bouquet, which combined eucalyptus, olive leaves, lisianthus in the hue of ivory and white roses, was matching perfectly with the colours surrounding it, and I was happy to see the guests enjoying an inspired wedding table decoration, surrounded by green and white details after the ceremony. As for the newlyweds, you can see in the photos below how happy and united they look in every step of the way into their new life, especially on those magic moments that the fireworks created.

Katie & Brad elopement in Santorini
Katie & Brad elopement in Santorini
“Brad and I knew each other through a group of mutual friends, but the sparks didn’t fully register until a group trip to Santa Cruz for New Year’s 2016. The day after the trip he emailed me and asked if I’d like to go on a date and we’ve been together ever since. He proposed last February by telling me to pack my bags and taking me on a very long hike along the Point Reyes Coastal Trail. When we checked into our BnB and were on the porch looking out at the ocean, he got down on one knee and said, “Before we do anything else I just need to know one thing – will you marry me?”. After many happy tears and hugs, we went down to the beach, made a bonfire, then finished the night with dinner at the Pelican Inn nearby. The best moment of the wedding was exchanging vows. We had done a small ceremony in San Francisco just days before we flew to Greece where we incorporated the traditional vows. Santorini was the first time we had a chance to express our personal vows to one another and doing so in this breathtaking setting was such an impactful moment.”
“Largely inspired by the stunning Greek Cyclades, I wanted to embrace the natural surroundings, so we stuck to a palate of white, off-white, light blue, grey and green. I wanted my outfit to draw from ancient or traditional Greek stylings and chose a dress with delicate drapery and gold-toned accessories. Once we decided to do the wedding in Greece, we only had about 2 months to get everything in order. I simultaneously started shopping online, made one appointment with a local dress shop and a tailoring appointment. After trying on a few options, the one that I purchased online was it. It’s by Maria Lucia Hohan and with a few tailoring modifications, ended up being the perfect dress. I love how it flowed in the wind.”

Νάγια & Γιώργος ένας γάμος στη Σκιάθο
Traditional Greek Destination Wedding in Skiathos
This destination wedding, was actually a traditional Greek wedding, where this Greek couple chose to tie the knot on the beautiful island of Skiathos.
As per all Greek traditions, the bride wrote on her shoe and the groom got dressed by his groomsmen and his family. After getting ready, Geirge was patiently waiting for his Nagia in front of the church with all of their guests. After her arrival, the whole party moved to the church, where they started with the traditional Orthodox ceremony in the local church. After the ceremony has ended, at the evening, the party continued at the chosen venue till the morning hours. Followed by the next day love story shoot with the husband and wife.
The whole event was captured by Mirror Studio:
From Nagia and George:
“Skiathos has always been a favorite destination for us. So in the summer of 2016 once again, we traveled to the island with the incredible natural beauty, for our summer holidays. Returning, we both had exactly the same thought, which after a few days became a decision “Our marriage will be the next summer on this dream island of Skiathos”. So the second weekend of September ’17 the words happy-happiness-love-spree accompanied us as well as our beloved friends and relatives. The ceremony, that took place in a mood of emotions, with our loving family and friends from all parts of the earth will forever remain in our thoughts.”

Όλα ξεκίνησαν αρχές Νοέμβρη του 2011, στο Τορόντο του Καναδά όπου γνωριστήκαμε μέσω κοινής παρέας. Greek Spring Inspired Wedding with Tulips in Tyrnavos
Sofia and George, collage sweethearts, decided to have their spring inspired wedding in a family circle in their hometown.
This wedding had all the Greek traditions in place, from ceremonial dressing of the groom to writing on bride’s shoes and tying the knot at the Orthodox Church. Main color of the day was yellow, of the bridal bouquet, which was simple, yet elegant and full of yellow tulips.
As per the Greek custom, the religious ceremony happened at the evening, when the sun was already setting, and the hot weather was cooling down. After the ceremony the party continued at the chosen venue till the morning hours. Sofia and George, also decided to have “the day after” shoot as husband and wife, to remember their special day.
The whole event was captured by Mirror Studio.
From the bride:
“We met in Kavala where we both studied. We started hanging out as friends and after some time everything was showing that we would soon become a couple. Finally, we are together ever since that October in 2006. Together, with the good and the bad, everything that life brings.
Our Greek wedding took place in Tyrnavos with our family and beloved friends in a moment of our life that will be engraved in our memory. Where, our feelings were overflowing with joy, happiness and love, which is exactly how we want to continue our lives.
Because that we do, we know, “Omnia vincit amor””
